The eighth State Final was held on Saturday August 26 at the Austrian Club
in Heidelberg. Congratulations to everyone involved in ensuring another year
of German teaching and learning was celebrated in style! We were also pleased
to host the presentation of prizes to winners of the Inter-State Writing Competition
organised by "Die Brücke" by the Vice-President, Edmund Reichmann.
Thanks to the Austrian Club for the donation of a spoon for each Year 8 student
and for the use of their excellent facilities. A special thanks to the friendly
staff capably coordinated by Liz Maedler. We always feel welcome and the staff
work very hard to feed the large crowd in attendance. Thanks also to the Judges,
to the Regional Final Coordinators, and to the teachers for preparing the students
in all AGTV Networks in Victoria. The competition remains a major event in the
AGTV calendar.
